Sayulita Life - Great Mexico Vacation Hideway For Hippies
A Mexico Spring Break is Fun and Affordable Mexico Vacation
The weather is getting warmer. The birds are coming back and the animals are scurrying about with their young. The initial buds are appearing on trees and splotches of green are beginning to appear on the lawn. All of this leads to one conclusion - spring is here. For many students and families alike that means shedding that winter coat and bulky sweaters for shorts and tank tops on a Mexico spring break trip.
Clearly, money can be scarce right now, but there is good news – the historically weak peso is even weaker now. That means your hard-earned dollars really stretch in Mexico. Even in the popular resort towns meals and and nice accommodations at finer restaurants and hotels is pretty cheap, especially considering comparable American spots.
For the hard-partying college kids, Cancun is one of the most popular. The dance clubs and bars are famous for packed crowds and late night parties. Spring break in Cancun is a far cry from the fraternity party environment of the nineties, as the community is attempting to re-mold its image as a time-share, but over 35,000 students still descend on the town over a month or so period each year.
For a more sane yet still memorable spring break, Cozumel, just east of the Yucatan in the Caribbean, offers a more {family-oriented adventure|family friendly excursion|touristy trip, but plenty of merrily rowdy nightlife.
Mazatlan is the place to party on Mexico’s Pacific coast. Mazatlan equals Cancun for outrageous atmosphere and party-till-you-drop attitude. Inexpensive cabs are readily available to take you from big, crowded clubs to more laid-back outdoor cafes.
Puerto Vallarta, also on the Pacific coast, can be a boisterous place in the evenings, but the town is also more focused on the typical tourist and families.
Regarding the violence among Mexican drug cartels – Mexico’s tourist areas see crime, obviously, but police in the resort towns have installed numerous surveillance cameras throughout the towns and ramped up measures and increased staff. Generally, people travel Mexico just like they do the U.S. – comfortably, but prudently cautious. Resort cities in Mexico are actually safer than most American cities, and the U.S. State Department states that resort regions in Mexico do not see the drug-linked violence and crime common to the border areas and chief drug trafficking routes.
