Spanish Fly $17.98 The “Spanish Fly” rhythm, on which all of these 19 tracks are based, is one of the more impressive to be produced by the team of Damian Hall and Nigel Whitfield, and it brings out the best in a wide array of singers and DJs on this unusually winning collection. With its synthesized horns and guitar and its relatively dense, stylized flamenco rhythm, it gives all of the vocalists a lot to work with and most of them take good advantage. Bounty Killer is irrepressible on the energetic (if gruesome) “Dem Dead”; Macka Diamond delivers a humorous ode to bling-bling titled “Boopsy”; Alozade and Chico team up nicely on a combination track with the banal title “Thug Life”; Ce’Cile continues the theme of the female romantic mercenary with her nicely crafted “Wine & Dine.” There’s nothing here that’s going to change the face of dancehall music anytime soon, but as one-rhythm albums go, this is one of the best this year. ~ Rick Anderson |

For What Purpose Do Late Summer Fronds Change Colors?
If you are like most people, you love to see the changing colors of the Fall leaves when summer shifts into the fall season.
You may have been awed by the beauty of leaves in the fall, yet did you ask yourself the cause of the multicolored leaves? What are the intrinsic differences that make one leaf red and another yellow, orange, or brown?
The purpose leaves provide in regards to the life of a tree provides insights about color variations among leaves. Leaves produce food for the tree.
The process by which leaves create food for trees, though an amazing act of Nature, is not difficult to understand.
How leaves work
- Photosynthesis
- Growth
- Carbon dioxide from the air
Roots provide leaves with the water required for life.
Trees also take carbon dioxide gas from the air. This is why many believe that planting trees helps combat global warming, thinking that each added tree takes more carbon dioxide from the air.
Sunlight is the catalyst that employs water from a tree‘s root system to change carbon dioxide into oxygen and glucose. An element man cannot live without, oxygen, is a significant consequence of this process! And this is how the leaves feed the tree, with that glucose. The process, start to finish, is called photosynthesis. The green in the leaves comes from chlorophyll, which is a key chemical in the photosynthesis process.
It‘s a mystery how the message is shared, but trees somehow know, or at lease sense, when winter is approaching. At this point in time, trees begin exhibiting consistent signs that they are aware of the season and the changes they must make. The winter season means there no longer will be enough light to fuel the photosynthesis process.
Yet another crucial element of the photosynthesis process is challenged in the winter because cold weather can inhibit the root system’s ability to draw water. Without photosynthesis, the food chain for trees is removed. Tree survival is not challenged, however, because of how much food the tree stored over the spring and summer.
When trees stop making food, they no longer have a need for green chlorophyll. It disappears from the leaves. This draining of the chlorophyll removes all of the green from the leaf. So, it’s not as if the leaf is turning a different color! The fall colors you see in leaves is the real deal when those same leaves aren‘t subjugated to the strong color of green. Once that is removed, you are left with the Fall leaves real color!
